Changing a Reel Fitting on a Tricast John Allerton Premier Match Rod 13ft

‪@MarkWintleFishing‬ In the final episode of this trilogy I change the screw upwards reel fitting to a screw down fitting and add a cork hood to make it comfortable and suit my needs. It's brutal getting the old reel seat off but I'm very pleased with the result and having fished with it, found it a big improvement. In a final change that I won't make a video about I changed a Daiwa Tournament reel seat on a Team Daiwa X and that was even more challenging; I'd probably recommend leaving that one alone! UPDATE 12/12/22 - Since making this video I've had a chance to fish with all four rods that I have modified. All have needed a few very minor tweaks to get the cork hood just right - a little bit more filing down - and all are supremely comfortable to fish with compared with their original design. Update 30/12/2024: it would seem that Guides 'n Blanks who were the main supplier of reel seats, corks and rod rings have gone into receivership.
