In this tool restoration video, I am restoring old vintage scissors. The scissors are rusty and have definitely seen better days. Watch me how I did it. https://allflavorworkshop.com/ ► Subscribe to AllFlavor Workshop: https://bit.ly/2T9cIxD I found these shears at a flea market for 20 cents. They were rusty, jammed and blades were all dull. Most probably those are old fabric scissors. After cleaning and de-rusting the tool I found an engraved creator marking on the blade "M" - Czech brand Mikov. VINTAGE SCISSORS RESTORATION | RESTORE HAND TOOLS In the beginning, I used water electrolysis made of an old appliance to remove most of the rust. Additionally to get rid of the residual rust I used a small hand wire brush. Further cleaning, sanding, and polishing were handled by a brass wheel wire brush. The pitting that stayed after cleaning the rust gave the scissors a really nice look. Afterward, I oiled the shears to prevent them from future rusting. To make the blades sharp again I used a whetstone. I like to repair and bring old tools and appliances back to life and inspire others to create something with their own hands. It is nice to repair old used tools and make them useful and usable again. Hopefully, I inspired you and could help with your projects and restorations. Repairing stuff is fun!
