In this powerful reminder about the blessed month of Ramadan, we discuss the common mistakes many women unknowingly make that can reduce the immense rewards of this sacred month. Ramadan is a time of multiplied blessings, mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from Hellfire. Every good deed is rewarded many times over, and it is a golden opportunity to purify the soul and draw closer to Allah. However, many sisters unintentionally spend the most valuable moments—especially between Asr and Maghrib—in household work and cooking, neglecting supplication and remembrance. Backbiting, unnecessary shopping, and wasting the last ten nights in worldly distractions can also diminish the spiritual benefits of fasting. The tongue must remain engaged in Tasbih and sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink but protecting one’s character and actions. This video also clarifies an important misunderstanding regarding Tarawih. Tarawih is a Sunnah Mu’akkadah (an emphasized Sunnah) and is not limited to men or the mosque. Women can and should perform it at home. Abandoning it without a valid excuse is sinful. Even reciting short surahs is sufficient to complete the prayer. Ramadan fasting is an obligation, and Tarawih is a unique act of worship specific to this blessed month. Let us value Ramadan before it passes, keep suhoor and iftar simple, prioritize worship, train our children to respect its sanctity, and strive to earn forgiveness and eternal success. May Allah grant us the ability to make the most of this sacred month and accept all our acts of worship.
