BUILDING AN AI-POWERED SURGICAL INTELLIGENCE PLATFORM FOR THE OPERATING ROOM | OMRI BAR

Millions of surgical procedures are performed every year using video-based visualization, but the vast majority of this data is not analyzed or stored. The opportunity to use the important information in these videos can enhance surgeons’ performance and improve patient care. In this talk, we will dive into the visual engine that Theator is building using PyTorch. We will see how Theator scales from training one specific task at a time to a multi-task network that is trained on multiple procedure types and multiple tasks simultaneously. We will also show our latest video action recognition network, VTN, and how it enables us to train using very long surgical videos with a single shared backbone.
