ShopBot's Bill Young and Jeanne Taylor work on projects together quite often, but there is typically a specific purpose in mind—everything from props for ShopBot’s exhibit space at trade shows to large quantities of single items as giveaways at events. This project is a little different. Bill (the Fabber) and Jeanne (the Designer) started discussing a project that would be an example of how fabbers and designers can work together, but how their approaches and perspectives are a bit different even though they’re both striving for the same end product. You’ll also hear a bit about the added variables that needed to be taken into consideration because this custom rolling pin project involved repeating patterns and the use of a rotary indexer with a ShopBot CNC tool. In this first of two videos, hear ideas from each of them about the project, how they worked with one another through the process, and the (sweet) added bonus Bill was gifted when the project was done.
