British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a tea party for World War Two veterans and other guests outside his office at 10 Downing Street on Monday. The government has planned a series of events in the run-up to the anniversary of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender that took effect on May 8, 1945. It is observed around that date in many countries, including France, the United States and Russia. A gun salute from WW2 guns from HMS Belfast rang out across London in celebration of the anniversary. A small tea party was also hosted on board of the ship.
