Hidden Holbrook: How a world war erased German Australia

🚙DESTINATION: Holbrook NSW 📍WHERE: Holbrook is on the Hume Highway, 384 kilometres by road North East of Melbourne and 492 kilometres by road south-west of Sydney. It's between Tarcutta and Albury, in the Greater Hume Council LGA. 👉🏾Country: Holbrook is on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people. ❓WHY: It's a great place to take a break on the long drive down south, with lots of history to explore and some great places to eat. 🏆HIGHLIGHTS: Enjoyed the Woolpack Inn Museum and the Australian Pottery Museum (although I was not able to take any vision in there). But the Holbrook Submarine museum was a favourite with it's insights into life aboard a submarine. Great displays. 🍲MEALS: I had a really delicious lunch at the Holbrook Hotel and a great breakfast at The Ten Mile. 🛌STAYED: At the Holbrook Motel which was excellent. The rooms were so clean, comfortable and quiet, and the service was friendly and helpful.
