Meeting Stars 🌟 📺 🥍 after an "Undulating" Hampstead Heath parkrun 🏃‍♀️⛰️

Iona was on a HIGH all day for our latest London parkrun adventure at Hampstead Heath parkrun. An early start with our bikes then catching the train to London to take us to the HEIGHTS of Hampstead Heath parkrun. Here you get some fabulous views of London from Parliament Hill, paid for by running round some very undulating, but beautiful parkland. Breakfast was less easy to find. The cafes in Hampstead don't cater for our more traditional breakfast needs, sausages and eggs are more our thing than smashed avocados. But we enjoyed a "Cinnamon Social" (Braided sweet soft dough pastry, filled with vanilla custard and cinnamon paste topped with icing) at Ole and Steen as an alternative, which was delicious. The real HIGH of the day for Iona was, not the top of Parliament Hill, but getting to meet the stars of the BBC TV series Malory Towers. In the summer we'd been to see the filming location in Devon and a chance post on their Facebook page had led us to the preview screening of Season 5 at the BFI on Southbank. Not only did we get to see the first two episodes of Season (six months before they come out) and take part in a cast Q&A but Iona also got to chat and have her photo taken with the stars of the show including her hero "Darrell Rivers" AKA Ella Bright. Meanwhile, Ewan went on an adventure on his own, travelling on the tube by himself for the first time to visit the Science Museum. Reunited, we enjoyed a delicious pasta "Tunch" (Lunch & tea, an Iona word) from Chi Chi and the Pasta family, before wandering through some of the amazing Christmas lights and window displays that London has to offer. Then tired but very happy, we headed home from what I'm sure will be one of our parkrun adventure highlights for a long time to come!
