New Year, New Workshop – and a Big Upgrade! 🚀 A new year brings new challenges! After my workshop changed ownership, I had to move into a slightly smaller space—right next door. But while the new shop is 2 meters narrower, it's almost twice as tall, offering the perfect opportunity to build a mezzanine floor for much-needed material storage. This project became an unexpected deep dive into structural planning, load calculations, and heavy-duty construction—all while racing against time before my workshop was completely clogged with materials! 🏗️ 🔹 Project Highlights: ✅ Building a mezzanine using joist hangers for strength and stability ✅ Structural planning: Binder beams, load calculations, and material selection ✅ Workshop organization: Moving, cleaning, and reclaiming space ✅ Upgrading tools: New panel saw, welding setup, and a Bosch cross-line laser ✅ DIY electric hoist to transport materials 4 meters high Along the way, I tackled some unexpected challenges, including a warped roof truss and creative solutions to maximize storage efficiency. 🚀 Stay tuned!
