I'm really glad that Severance is going into Lynchian terrain in its second half while The White Lotus is still in its early, let's hang out by the pool episodes. After what you saw in Severance episode 7, I'm willing to wager that you're enjoying playing around with Rick and Chelsea at a snake farm if you're watching both series, which are perhaps the finest two shows on TV right now. Please pardon me for keeping this week's White Lotus report brief, as I spent over 2,800 words on that episode, and tonight is Oscars night, which I take very seriously (despite what our movie critic may say!). Mike White's most recent report from Thailand doesn't warrant much discussion because episode 3, appropriately titled "The Meaning of Dreams," feels like the final setup before the murder mystery really gets underway. Alright! It's not too difficult to figure out this one. The Ratliff clan faces complete ruin as the FBI shows up at Tim's workplace to uncover what seems to be his involvement in a money laundering scam. That lovely house we saw in Victoria's dream, huh? By the time the Ratliffs go back to North Carolina, the authorities might take it away. Tim chooses to give White Lotus possession of all his family's equipment, but everyone appears to be aware to differing degrees that Papa Ratliff is in serious trouble.
