What we often sense in the omnibus structures of novels or films is that their temporality, unlike music, does not unfold linearly or dialectically. Their time is constructed, dissolved, and recirculated within the listener’s or viewer’s memory. I sought to evoke this flow of time, more precisely, the process of recollection itself, through music. To realize this, I first composed seven distinct musical sections, each built from different materials. All of them derive from a very simple shared motive ,*tik-tok*, which I call the “clock motive.” Every element bears a certain kinship to the others, yet none is cleanly or explicitly connected. As the music progresses, these materials collide, intermingle, and fragment. Just as our memories sometimes shift, distort, or transform, entirely unrelated elements occasionally surface within the piece. 이 작품은 음악적 형식과 인식에 대한 하나의 실험이다. 소설이나 영화의 옴니버스 형식을 접할 때 우리가 느끼는 바는, 그들의 시간성은 음악과 달리 선형적이거나 변증법적으로 흐르지 않는다는 점이다. 그 시간은 감상자의 기억 속에서 구성되고 해체되며 순환적인 방식으로 펼쳐진다. 나는 이러한 시간의 흐름, 더 정확히는 우리의 상기 과정을 음악으로 구현하고자 했다. 이를 위해 나는 서로 다른 음악적 재료들로 구성된 일곱 개의 독립적 단락을 먼저 만들었다. 이 단락들은 모두 매우 단순한 공통 모티브인 틱톡(Tik-tok), 내가 시계 모티브라고 부르는 것에서 파생되었다. 모든 요소는 어느 정도 연관성을 지니지만 서로 명확하게 이어지지는 않으며, 음악이 전개됨에 따라 이들은 뒤섞이고 파편화된다. 기억이 종종 변형되거나 왜곡되는 것처럼 이 작품에서도 전혀 관련이 없어 보이는 새로운 요소가 뜻밖에 등장하기도 한다. 21st November, 2025 Einstein Kultur, München, Germany *Thanks to Youshin Gim for recording the video
