Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests with a panoramic view of the peaks of the Himalayas. A long cable car links Auli to the town of Joshimath. North of Auli are the colorful Badrinath Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the Valley of Flowers National Park, with its alpine flora and wildlife like snow leopards and red foxes. Winter is the best season to visit Auli and make the most of everything. It's snowfall time in Auli from December to February. It is advisable to book the cable car tickets online in advance. We left from Rishikesh in our cab and it took us almost 8 hours to reach Joshimath. We stayed a night there and we left for Auli on the next day via cable car. You can even do a day visit to Auli if you are not staying in Auli.
