Planting Lingonberries as Groundcover

Lingonberries have a some great uses in the garden. Two specifically: they quite like the same soil conditions as blueberry plants and they top out around one and a half feet tall. This makes them pretty much perfect as a ground cover plant for the blueberry beds. It also helps that I happen to like Lingonberries (thanks Ikea!). Since I like them and they fit the requirements perfectly (unlike cranberries, which prefer soil that doesn't drain quite a swell) I decided to give Lingonberry plants a try in my already established blueberry planters. If you aren't familiar with Lingonberries, think cranberries but a touch less acidic and arguably slightly sweeter. In many countries Lingonberries are used as the primary "holiday berry", much like how folks from the United States use cranberries. I plan to expand the cranberry plantings as well by the way, I'm not giving up on them at all, I just thought adding more berry diversity sounded like a great plan.
