“The Watcher’s Eye” is a satirical metal ballad based on Isaac Asimov’s short story from the Azazel cycle. In this tale, Azazel narrates how ordinary human curiosity turns into humiliation and ruin. Through his friend George, a man named Charles asks for help — not to act, but to see. He wants access to a woman’s private life without being seen, without consequences. Azazel grants him a magical “Watcher’s Eye,” an invisible window into the truth. What Charles discovers destroys his illusions — and himself. Told from Azazel’s point of view, the track blends dark humor, mockery, and cold moral judgment. This is not a story about magic, but about voyeurism, obsession, and the price of knowing too much. Moral: Some things are better left unseen. Curiosity rarely makes people happier. The Azazel Project reimagines Isaac Asimov’s satirical demon stories as rock and metal ballads, with Azazel himself serving as the narrator of human folly.
