Demonstration of the OMICRON stator core measurement solution OMICRON’s Stator Core Measurement Upgrade Option ensures time-saving and highly reliable electromagnetic imperfection testing (also known as a stray flux measurement). This offline test, which is performed during maintenance outages, reliably detects interlamination imperfections in the stator core of rotating electrical machines, including hydro generators, turbo generators and industrial motors. These imperfections can cause overheating and damage in generators and motors during operation, and lead to eventually failure if not detected in time. Regular measurements are recommended to assess the insulation integrity between stator core layers over time. Used together with OMICRON’s portable CPC 100 multi-functional testing device for both energizing the stator core and operating the measurement, this complete solution provides you with a frequency-selective, highly-sensitive and efficient measurement approach. The measurement sensor automatically moves along a mounted rail, scanning the entire length of the stator core surface below. The rail can easily be repositioned to scan other areas of the stator core. Reports, including a heat map showing defect locations, can be automatically generated on site with a single mouse click.
