In this slow living vlog, I'll be showing you some very simple ways I make my home cozy for the holidays by using fresh cut pine needles, Holly plants, oranges, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks. And of course, a cozy home is not complete without handmade candles and baked apple cookies :) I hope you enjoy today's vlog! Happy holidays ♥️🍎🎄🍊 🌻 My Instagram: morning_thyme 🎼 Music from: https://www.epidemicsound.com Songs used: Bridges by Volcan Peaks In Stillness by Gavin Luke Under my Oak Tree by Johannes Bornlof 🍎🍪 Apple Cookies (updated version) Ingredients For the filling: 1 medium Gala apple (peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces) 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 1/2 tbs brown sugar 1 tbs melted butter For the dough: 1/2 cup softened butter (1 stick) 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 2 tbs water 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp baking powder Directions: Preheat oven to 375F and line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper. Mix all the filling ingredients together and set aside. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together. Add the egg, water, vanilla extract, and mix well. In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt, cinnamon, cream of tartar, and baking powder. Now combine the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Fold until a cookie dough forms. Roll dough into small round balls, about the size of 2 tablespoons. Cut each ball in half. Now roll each of the halves into round balls again. Create a well in one of the halves and fill with apple filling. Flatten the other half with the palms of your hands and place on top of the filled half and seal the edges. Place them on the lined cookie sheets, about 1.5 inches apart. Continue doing the same for the rest. Bake in preheated oven for 8-9 minutes (do not go past the recommended time). Remove from oven. Let cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. Wait until cool completely. Enjoy!
