(This is rather old clip. Updates on the plane at the bottom.) A demonstration of how the wing transport brackets and arrangement works on a Fokker E.III Monoplane. This particular plane is one of several I built. This one still belongs to me and is on long term loan to "The Australian Vintage Aviation Society" or short TAVAS. It will be returned to Germany in 2030 in full flying condition. It is currently being finished up there and will be powered in flight by a 100 HP Rotary engine, which is also a magnificent reproduction made by Tony Wytenburg of Classic Aero Machining Service (CAMS), in Blenheim NZ. http://www.cams.net.nz You may learn more about the plane and updates about its progress here: http://www.tavas.com.au/the-aircraft.php These transportation devices prooved so reliable during the test, that I used it to store the wings of two airplanes I built during their shipment to New Zealand, which makes me proud enough to say that this may be the furthest journey ever any Fokker reproduction did employing the original Fokker transportation method. Update: Unfortunately TAVAS had to close its gates for certain resons and this airplane is now moved to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Center where it will stay for the next years and will be flown regulary. TAVAS flew th eaircraft regulary since 2012 and this will now be continued at Omaka. Look up the Omaka Aviation heritage Center on the internet to find more information on when this plane can be seen in the air.
