Inside Cuba's Education Programme After the Revolution | Our History

This program looks at how the state deals with problem people and the less fortunate members of its society. We see inside a women's prison where the concept is not to have a warehouse for prisoners but more a school for rehabilitation. Prisoners are allowed to discuss why they are being detained and how they are treated. Life in a showpiece psychiatric hospital is also shown, where it is said patient's efforts earn half the running costs. At an old people's home, many of the elderly residents still prefer life before the revolution. They were the only ones who openly expressed any dissatisfaction with the new life.
