Modifying a Logitech C920 Webcam to accept CS-mount lenses

Since starting the channel I have used the Logitech C920 for most of the video footage. It's full HD and works very well with Linux systems using Guvcview. However, I always found the fixed wide-angle lens a limitation for detail shots and the built-in zoom is software only, i.e. simply crops the image and reduces the resolution. I found a DIY modification kit for the C920 in Lithuania at www.kurokesu.com (Saulius Lukse) and gave that a try. This video documents my modification and some experiments with lenses. In short, if you have reasonable soldering skills, the kit works very well. Don't forget that you will need to buy one or more suitable lenses as well and that there is no auto-focus.
