FIRST CORN HARVEST! NEW HEADERS + NEW FIELDS ON THE $15,000,000 MEGA FARM! | Courtland, MN | FS25

In today’s episode, we’re kicking things into high gear as our very first cut of Hay continues and we work on baling the second Hay field, we'll also be firing up our combines once again and kicking off our first ever Fall Corn harvest here on the Courtland MEGA Farm! If you caught the last episode, you’ll know things have escalated fast on the dairy side of the operation. Our MEGA Dairy is officially up and running after purchasing 898 Holstein dairy cows. These weren’t baby calves either—every cow was at least 18 months old. It cost us a bit more upfront, but the payoff is huge because these cows are already producing milk, meaning we didn’t have to wait an entire year to start seeing returns. After getting both of our dairy barns filled, we immediately put our massive commodity shed to work. We mixed together mountains of Hay, Silage, and Straw to create Total Mixed Ration, and we delivered load after load until both cow sheds were completely full and ready to carry us deep into the Winter months. Now that the cows are fed and the dairy is running smoothly, it’s time to refocus on the fields. We’ve got one final crop to bring in before we close out the season, and that’s our Corn. I’ll be jumping back into the pickup truck and heading over to the farm to get our John Deere S680 and John Deere 9860 STS combines fully repaired, refueled, and ready for battle. Once they’re dialed in, we’re taking both machines down to the dealership to pick up two brand-new Geringhoff 12-row Corn headers—the perfect setup for our first official Corn harvest on the dairy farm. On the way to the dealership, we’ll also be making a stop to purchase two new 30-acre fields, both conveniently located near the shop and both fully grown with Corn that’s ready to harvest. With the new land bought and the headers attached, we’ll send the combines straight to the field and officially kick off our very first Fall Corn harvest here in Courtland, Minnesota. After the combines knock out the headlands and get Courseplay running smoothly, I’ll hop back into the truck to begin setting up brand-new AutoDrive grain cart and semi routes, making sure our trucks can enter, park, and haul loads of Corn back to the farm efficiently. Everything we pull off the field today will be stored in our grain bins and eventually used to help support our fast-growing dairy operation. We’ve got Hay to bale, Corn to harvest, new land to break in, and a MEGA dairy herd to keep fed—so there’s no shortage of work today on the Courtland MEGA Dairy Farm.
