Slaven & Ivy | Our Wedding Story | 11-08-17 Finally, the long awaited wedding video is here!! ❤️ In honor of our 2nd year civil wedding anniversary, for the first time, we are sharing to public our wedding in the Philippines last November 8, 2017. Two years ago, we only shared photos and many asked us to upload our wedding video. We are happy that you guys get so excited to see a snipet of our wedding and even now, I still get so many messages about it so I tried my best to edit our raw videos. 🤗 I am not that good in editing yet but I hope you don’t mind the lack of editing skills. 😆 I'm so excited to share this with you guys. It still makes me cry when I watch it. I am just so happy to look back after all of these years. 😭 When marrying a foreign guy, most people are expecting that you will have a grand and lavish wedding. However, as a couple, both of us want to be smart in spending money for the wedding. We don’t want to be in debt just to please other people. Not all foreigners are rich. We have our own struggles, that’s reality. It’s our wedding and what other people expect is not our priority. We planned it as simple as possible but a memorable one witnessed by our closest family members. We both believe that it’s not about the amount of money you spend for a grandeur wedding but it is the amount of love, time, emotions you will give to your partner the whole time you will be together in your lifetime and that is more important than any party. 😉 We got married in Philippines (civil wedding in Mayor’s office and a separate beach garden wedding ceremony) for a grand total of €200 in November 2017: Marriage certificate, food and reception for only 22 people. We had no wedding cake, I didn’t wear a long wedding gown instead I wore a dress I bought from ukay2x worth 200 pesos, we bought stainless steel rings as our temporary wedding bands as we expect our kum to buy real gold rings for us (part of my husband’s orthodox serb culture). No lavish reception and no grand ceremony but Boffo Resort in Sandingan Island, Bohol helped us achieve our dream wedding with no much cost. We only had a simple but very intimate ceremony, celebrated with our closest family. We also had our church wedding last October 6, it was a traditional Serbian Etno wedding. We are always practical. Instead of a grand church wedding, we spent the money to bring my parents here in Bosnia - the most important part of the celebration (to receive the blessings of both our families). Please also stay tuned this January 7, 2020 (Orthodox Christmas) for our wedding coverage in RTRS, a national TV here in Bosnia. It will also be made available online. 😍 To my love, happy 2nd anniversary! 😘 So many things we have been through together and great heights we have reached together. What a good team we make! 😘 I know we will remain this way for the next 50 years to come. 😍 We may not be rich in material possession but we are more than bountiful in marital grace. ❤️ It gives me goosebumps how God answered our prayers. In 2 years, we accomplished so many things and we made the impossible to possible through God’s grace. As I watch my thank you wedding speech infront of our family, it really made me feel how super blessed we are. All of my wishes came true: to be with you and settle down in Bosnia, have a baby girl, create a beautiful family, bring my parents to Bosnia and have a church wedding with both our families. We made it all! How amazing is our Lord! All glory to His! ❤️ I also still remember what you promised to me, that you don’t care how much complicated it is to marry me because you really want to pursue me. THANK YOU! look forward to pursuing each other over many, many years. I am blessed and honored to have you as my husband. I love you so very much! Not a lot of couples are ever lucky to get married to their true love, I am happy that I am among the lucky ones. Remember all the time, I love your steadfast love. Your strength when faced with challenges. I love that when those challenges arise, you pursue God and ask for His guidance and strength. I love that you don’t focus on worldly “romance” but love me and Sofija with a genuine, true love that you live out before us. I love that I can be real with you about my imperfections and you accept me as I am. You listen to me, hear me, and offer me encouragement, comfort and support when needed. You are our hero and I appreciate your selflessness and the way you sacrifice to serve our family and to all our families who needed help the most. Know that I vow to forever be in pursuit of you my love, to each and everyday. I will honor you, love you and serve you with all that I am for God has commanded me with this. I love you, always. 😘
