It’s truly incredible to me that it took me 28 years to go see a rally for the first time. From the very first moment, I was amazed. I told everyone I talked to how incredible the experience was and how it became one of the events I enjoyed the most in a very long time. From moving through the different stages, the family-friendly atmosphere, the fleeting moments of watching the cars pass just a couple of times, following the competition on the radio... I felt like a child again, discovering something new. Currently, the Argentine Rally Championship is divided into five classes: RC2, RCMR, RC3, RC4, and RC5. In RC2, cars from the Rally 2 Group and Rally 2 Kit (VR4K) compete. On the other hand, the RCMR category includes the well-known Maxi Rally cars, homologated by the CDA, with turbo engines up to 1600 cc or naturally aspirated engines up to 2400 cc. The RC3 category consists of Junior Group vehicles, also homologated by the CDA. Within RC4, we find cars from the Rally 4 Group, with naturally aspirated engines between 1390 and 2000 cc or turbocharged engines between 927 and 1333 cc. It also includes models from the Rally 5 Group, with naturally aspirated engines up to 1600 cc and turbocharged engines up to 1333 cc. Finally, RC5 brings together vehicles from the R1B-N Group, homologated by the CDA, representing the entry-level category of the championship. The action started on Friday with the Shakedown in El Cocal, a 3.37 km stage where the teams fine-tuned their setups before the official start. There, Claudio Robustelli and Mariano Pissaco set the fastest time with their Skoda Fabia Rally2. On Saturday, the bad weather conditions in General Madariaga complicated the start of the first stage, but they seemed to favor Gastón Pasten, who took the lead by winning three of the four special stages of the day. Gastón Pasten himself was in charge of opening the road in the final stage of the weekend, but an off-track excursion caused a significant delay, making him lose more than two minutes. The legendary Federico Villagra took advantage of this setback, seizing the lead and holding onto it until securing victory in the "Pagos Gauchos". In the RC2 Cup, the Riojan duo Nicolás and Juan De la Vega took the victory. In RCMR, Miguel Patat and Rubén García (Renault) emerged as the winners, while Lucas Machado and Matías Aranguren (Peugeot) did the same in RC4. Gianfranco Pichetti and Anuas Osman, driving their Toyota Etios, secured the win in RC3, while in RC5, the victory went to the duo José Franco/Gabriel Franco (Ford).
