This month we return to GSI Studios in New York where Josh Giunta takes us through recording and mixing process he uses for live piano. In this video, Josh focuses on the mix considerations he makes when recording a dynamic piano performance in Studio A at GSI Studios. He takes us through every step of the mixing signal chain, from the API 1608 console, running through a 24 track Studer tape machine, and then recorded in Pro Tools. Josh explains his methods for fixing phase issues at the mixing stage and we get to hear how the various microphone combinations we saw in Part 1 sound when blended together.
