Hamas Launches Surprise Attack on Israel, Killing 700 People | EWTN News Nightly

Warning sirens blared in Jerusalem and across Israel as the country endured multiple rocket attacks from Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the retaliation against Hamas has only just begun. The Israeli Defense Forces says it has attacked 130 Hamas targets in Gaza with air strikes in a 3 hour span. They also ordered a complete siege of the Gaza strip, cutting off food, fuel, electricity and water supplies. The war began on Saturday when Hamas launched a surprise assault in which more than 700 people were killed. Senior Research Fellow with the Philos Project and a former State Department Official, Andrew Doran, joins to tell us what the situation is like right now in Israel. Doran shares how people are feeling and what their biggest concern is. The Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations called the attack Israel's 9-1-1. Doran discusses whether he thinks this is an accurate description.
