Are Jews actually descendants of a Khazar Tribe? Myth or Fact? - Mottel Baleston, Messianic Teacher

Are Modern Jews actually the descendants of Khazars? An new theory has been circulating among some Christians in the last few years which holds that the Jewish people of today are not related ethnically to the Jewish people we see in the Bible, but rather are the descendants of a little-known tribe from northern Turkey called the Khazars. This idea was previously only seen in anti-Semitic and racist literature such as distributed by the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis. However in recent years it has spread after being adopted by some in the Christian Nationalist movements which hold to white supremacy, as well as those at the opposite end of the spectrum, the Black Hebrew Israelite movement which promotes black supremacy, with its ideas recently echoed by Kanye West and others. Thoughtful Bible believers need to understand the issue, because these new theories challenge the very core of the biblical narrative in one way or another. This 45 minute video was taped at a breakout session of a Fall 2018 Bible conference, your teacher is Mottel Baleston, who was born into a Jewish home in New York City and attended Jewish and public schools there. He came to faith in Messiah Jesus after reading the Messianic prophecies in the Jewish Bible.
