They gained significant attention with their debut self-titled album in 1982, featuring hits like "Hey Operator" and "Devil's Deck." The band continued to build a loyal fan base throughout the 1980s with albums like "Outa Hand" and "Friction". After Coney Hatch disbanded, Dixon pursued a solo career and played with other notable Canadian rock bands, including The Guess Who and April Wine. His powerful voice and stage presence made him a sought-after performer, and he continued to release solo albums showcasing his songwriting talents. In 2008, Dixon's life took a dramatic turn when he was involved in a severe car accident in Australia. The crash left him with life-threatening injuries, including multiple fractures and a traumatic brain injury. Against the odds, Dixon made a remarkable recovery, defying doctors' predictions.
