Ramsgate Assembly is an English Country Dance devised by Thomas Budd and published in 1795. It is a proper 3 couple longways dance. It was adapted by A. Simons in 1972. Found in The Playford Ball, and included in the article "A Trip to Netherfield" in the Playford Assembly. The tune was published with the dance. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "By Request". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. https://www.cds-boston.org/ecdc/ The animation plays at 123 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses.
