I grey up with an older analog meter style, so I wanted to upgrade to a newer digital one that can tell you what you have found. I decided to go with the INTEY Metal Detector with LCD Showing Detecting Depth and High-accuracy Discrimination in Oxford Carry Bag with Multi-function Folding Shove. The detector was really easy to put together. It had a 5 pin connector that you screwed together, and then a thumb screw to attach the pole to the handle part. Add a 9 volt battery, and you are good to go. Also in the box was a storage bag, and a camping shovel to assist with digging up your found treasures, The detector is super easy to use. Just power it on, then set your sensitivity, and then you're good to go. That is it. You can start to use it with it's default settings, or you can tell it not to find certain items. At the beach, there are a lot of old style peel off beer tabs, so you can actually tell it not to alert you when you find one, I like how lightweight it is. I don't feel it against my arm after long term use. You do feel that it's in your hand, but it's not an annoyance or something putting pressure on it, and pulling down on it. So I guess that I would call it comfortable to hold and use.
