Thanks! ========= Websites: Autism On The Seas - https://autismontheseas.com Royal Caribbean - https://www.royalcaribbean.com ========= Autism On The Seas (AOTS) @autismontheseas is a non profit organization that works with several cruise lines to accommodate adults and families living with children with special needs such as autism, down syndrome and other related developmental disabilities. In essence, they’re a travel agency that provide services for a fee. They have staff assisted cruises that provide specialized respite and private activities. This means there are scheduled group times if you wish to send your child to respite and/or engage in ship activities/events. At respite, we saw they had sensory toys, art and crafts, balloons and a trampoline. Respite services is for drop off only. You can’t stay there with your child. Go have fun for a bit instead! All the AOTS staff are volunteers specialized in the Education professions. We met special ed teachers, OT and PT therapists. They are all extremely friendly and very helpful. At the scheduled group activities/events, AOTS will reserve time and/or seats for cruise activities such as shows, roller skating, bumper cars or pool time. We joined the roller skating and bumper cars activities. The reserved sessions were allotted for AOTS guests only. AOTS have an app you can download on your phone to see the planned daily activities. Caveat being that the WIFI on the ship wasn’t very stable or accessible sometimes. We highly recommend to take a screenshot of the daily schedule so you can reference it as necessary. Of course, you don’t have to follow their schedule and/or use their services if you don’t want to. They are there to be of service if you need help. Also, we recommend reaching out to the AOTS group leader or staff if you have any concerns or questions during your cruise!
