We visited the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo - The Making of Harry Potter, and honestly we didn’t know what to expect. We like the movies, but we’re not huge Harry Potter fans. Still, this experience ended up being one of our favourite days in Japan. If you’ve already been to the World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan, you might be wondering if this is worth adding to your trip too. We were asking ourselves the same question, especially traveling with kids. This place is very different from a theme park. Instead of rides and big crowds, it feels more like stepping behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films. You walk through the sets, see the real props and costumes, and learn how many of the magical scenes were created. The kids were curious the whole time. They loved finding the hidden passport clues, trying some of the interactive displays, and seeing things from the movies come to life in a completely different way. About halfway through we stopped for food and finally tried butterbeer. It was very sweet, but also really good. After that we kept exploring, saw the Hogwarts Express up close, and even tried the broomstick flying experience. And then at the end you see the huge Hogwarts castle model used for filming. That moment alone was pretty amazing. In this video we share what the experience actually feels like from a kid’s point of view, what surprised them, and whether we think it’s worth visiting if you’re traveling to Tokyo as a family. If you enjoy seeing places through kids’ eyes and following along on our family adventures, feel free to subscribe and join us on the next one. #HarryPotter #TokyoTravel #FamilyTravel #HarryPotterStudioTour
