Huge ABANDONED Hospital With The Power Still On

This massive abandoned hospital had original structures on the property that dated back nearly 100 years ago, but the newest of the hospitals structures were built in the year 2000, only some 25 years ago. The large hospital had been built in multiple phases over its near 90 years of existence with major expansions in the 1950s, 1960s, and even the 1990s. This helped solidly its growing reputation as it went on to be considered as the cornerstone location of all healthcare within the entire region. When it was established back in 1929 its mission was direct but simple, as the primary purpose would aim at addressing the increasing demand for more accessible healthcare options in the local community. The hospital’s ability to achieve its mission also helped its name to become synonymous with compassionate patient care and innovative medical practices, which eventually resulted in it garnering accolades for its outstanding emergency services and specialized care around the turn of the millennium. However, despite its initial promise and its years long dedication to servicing the community, the hospital began to face considerable challenges beginning in 2016. A convergence of funding instability, changing healthcare dynamics, and heavy competition exacerbated its operational difficulties and eventually due to years of steady underutilization and burgeoning financial deficits it was purchased by a parent health care company the following year in 2017. That same parent company quickly realized they were in way over their head as they were unable to sustain any profits despite spending millions on recent upgrades. Its sudden closure resulted in the shutdown of the main hospital however some of the physician offices and dental clinics remained open for a few more years until one by one they all had closed down. By 2023, the entire hospital including all the surrounding buildings were left abandoned so the company initially listed it on the market in effort to try and recoup some of the devastating losses in revenue, but, it never sold. Today, the aging hospital continues to sit abandoned, although now with newer upgraded security measures to try and deter any potential trespassing. With it being such an enormous complex, it will be very interesting to see what happens to this once considered cornerstone of all healthcare in the region.
