Failed dress sewing, improvised skirt and facing mistakes.

Today I tried to sew a wrap dress using two beautiful satin fabrics… but things didn’t exactly go as planned. 😅 Between the slippery satin, the shine of the fabric and a few miscalculations, the project quickly started going in a different direction. Even though the dress didn’t work out, I didn’t want the fabric to go to waste. So I decided to reuse one of the pieces and turn it into a gathered skirt with an elastic waistband. ✂️ In the end, what started as a failed dress became a completely different and very wearable piece. In this video I show you the whole process: the original idea, the challenges of sewing with satin, and how I improvised to rescue the fabric and transform it into something new.
