David Whitmer: Witness of Truth

David Whitmer was one of three witnesses to the record of the Nephites. He was one of 6 early members of the Restoration Movement with Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Martin Harris, and more. He witnessed most of the early miracles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1838 he left the church and was then excommunicated. Why would he leave? Up until his death in 1888, he vehemently defended his testimony of the Native American records (Book of Mormon) and was well-respected in his community of Richmond, MO. He even served as the Mayor.
