Let me show you how to fit a new bushing for the barrel arbor on this beautiful vintage 1940s Omega 30T2 PC watch movement using Lorch watchmaker’s lathes. By turning the egg-shaped hole, and turning a new bronze bushing, this watch can tick again for many years to come! This is my very first YouTube video! I usually share my work on Instagram, but after receiving several requests for a more in-depth walkthrough, I decided to make a full-length video on this topic. I hope you enjoy it! In this video, I cover the following steps: 0:00 Introduction, worn barrel arbor hole 1:27 Set tool at center height 2:07 Mounting the movement in the faceplate clamps 2:47 Centering the worn, egg-shaped hole with a DIY centering scope 6:38 Turning the hole perfectly round again 9:20 Reaming it to the correct size and remove sharp edges 11:15 Turning the bushing to the correct outer diameter 13:30 Drilling the barrel arbor hole in the bushing 16:59 Parting off and finishing the bushing 19:14 Press-fitting the bushing into the barrel bridge 20:06 Reaming the bushing hole to final size for the barrel arbor 22:26 Inspecting the finished result under the microscope 23:09 Ending Thanks for watching!
