The 2019 model year is well represented by several standouts. Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph with Frederic Piguet 1185 is a harbinger of new style concepts to follow on the mainstream Offshore Chronograph. Ressence sheds thickness with the newly ETA 2892-powered Type 1 Slim. Glashutte Original continues its series of Vintage Sixties degrade dials with explosive stamped patterns, galvanized metallic tones, and glossy lacquered top-coats. Finally, Vacheron Constantin and Breguet watches impress with quality rarely seen even from more heralded brands Patek and Lange. The Vacheron Constantin Toledo 1952 is a sensational tribute to 1950s Vacheron “Ciccolatone” complete calendar watches, and the American 1921 in platinum demonstrates the aesthetic range of Vacheron’s design icon. Finally, Breguet’s Classique 3337BA recalls Abraham Louis Breguet’s finest work with its guilloche gold dial while highlighting the capability of today’s Breguet manufacture courtesy of a hand-engraved automatic caliber 502 movement.
