DCUO Game Update 94: Retextured Human Skins

In this video, I take a look at the graphically revamped, retextured Human Skins for players to wear on their character and compare them to their original counterparts. The retextured skins were introduced to DC Universe Online as part of Game Update 94. The Human Skins were originally introduced as part of the launch version of DCUO. This was back before many of the technologies that have become a standard in the modern era of video game development even existed. As a result, many of the game's older art assets aren't looking too great in 2019. Styles, NPCs, and Environments have come a long way since the game first launched, but sadly, our character's base skins have not, meaning your beautiful new style can often be ruined by the ugly skin. Finally, after many requests, the Daybreak developers have released some "new" skins that have been developed using modern technologies. These skins are based on the "Human 1", "Human 2", and "Human 3" skins (so they're technically not brand new assets) and will replace them as of Game Update 94. The original versions will be available as "Classic" versions. These skins will be free for all players. Newly created characters will be able to choose them when designing their new character. Existing characters will be able to access these skins by visiting their faction's Skin vendor, featured towards the end of the video, for $850 in-game currency.
