We're told that men are miserable being single and have to adopt indiscriminate dating techniques, or else they'd never get any dates. This leads them to end up in miserable relationships with women they don't even like and they do this to secure a long term relationship to avoid being miserable and alone forever. However, men portray those long term relationships as miserable as well. Rather than examine this seemingly contradictory cycle of misery, we seem continue to use it as a manipulation tactic against women.
