In English: Filmed at September 29, 2018. In this video I'm going to introduce for you a city ferry known as Föri, which takes peoples from Itäinen Rantakatu to Läntinen Rantakatu and vice versa over River Aurajoki in Turku. For those who don't know what is Föri, It is a city ferry that was built back in 1903, which makes it the oldest vehicle still at use in Finland. It drove Its first ride over River Aurajoki in 1904 between Läntinen Rantakatu and Itäinen Rantakatu and since then it have driven regularly the same route with couple exceptional time periods. Taking ride with it is free and you can take your bicycle on it too. Originally Föri was equipped with two diesel engines until March 2017, when they were replaced with new electric engines at local dock. This change made it eight tons lighter than it was with diesel engines.
