Sara Van Nortwick, M.D., is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with expertise in the treatment of disorders of the spine and extremities. Dr. Van Nortwick completed a prestigious pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Stanford Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California, and is actively involved in numerous research projects to advance the field of pediatric orthopedics. Scoliosis, hip dysplasia, and fracture care are of special interest to Dr. Van Nortwick. The treatment of patients with neuromuscular and congenital differences is especially enjoyable for Dr. Van Nortwick secondary to the lifelong relationships that can develop. Dr. Van Nortwick’s sister, Amy, has cerebral palsy and was the impetus for Dr. Van Nortwick’s pursuit of orthopedic surgery. As a former division 1 collegiate athlete, Dr. Van Nortwick identifies with the athletic aspirations of her patients.
