I love seeing new case ideas — and Torras’s 360 Silicone had me hooked at first. Slick design, great buttons and an upgraded magnetic stand. But after 30 drops, I can tell you this: it looks premium, but the data says otherwise. I'm on a mission to find the best iPhone 17 Cases out there. TORRAS New Silicone 360 Click-Lock Rotating Stand Case for iPhone 17 Pro Max | Premium 55° Liquid Silicone Protection Review -this is a neat looking case -lots of different colors -big fan of this pale orange one -the finish on this case reminds of all the knock off silicone cases I tested a while back -it's pretty tacky -the case looks really bulbous, like a cloud almost -a welcome difference in the world of bland looking cases -iPhone sits on a bed of microfiber that goes all the way to the edges -most notable feature is the stand that's baked into the case -personally, I think it's a terrible feature -grip is not an issue with this case -great when it's your hands -terribly when its in your pockets -the finish on the Apple silicone case is still better -case is going to add 54g to your iPhone's weight -that's a few g's higher than the updated average (50g) -this case is going to make your iPhone feel bigger, especially on the Pro Max's -for corner drops -the iPhone gets the feels at 11G's which is 7% higher than average -becuase of the silicone finish, this case does bounce like a piece of rubber -as the rotation rate was 25% higher than average -BUT because of the rigidity of the case, it settles down way faster, 45% faster than average -the total force going into the iPhone still suffers because of the heavier initial hit -for face first drops -as I said before, it failed -and I think it's because of a build quality issue -a case with a reinforced top should fail -i don't think the top of the case fits the iPhone well -you can tell that the case edge is noticeably lower at the top compared to the others -even at failure, the intial impact was 40% higher than the average case so who knows what's going on here -for the camera lump -Torras has the a thick PC lip around the camera lump -this lip results in the intial impact being very average -BUT because of the super rigid back -the case settling rate of the case is faster by 37% -and it settles a hair faster as well -resulting in a total force that's a hair below average -this case is a dual layerd case -PC back and parts of the edges with a silicone finish -the corners have a thickness of 2.4mm -the corners are a bit of an unknown to me -pretty sure the PC wraps around the corners because it does deform after a ton of drops -back is 1.7mm -my initial impression of the ridigit was that this was going to be a joke because of the stand -but it took 55.3N to bend this case 8mm -which means the case is stiffer than the average case by 89% -before I did all my drop tests, I totally thought this case was going to be perform better than Apple's own silicone case -same general finish, bulkier back -the only thing similar was the face first drop failure -Magsafe is where this case falls on it's face -takes 7.5N to pull accessories off -9.5N to push -both of these values are way below average -this is one of the worst cases to get for use with magafe accessories -using your iPhone is great in the case -buttons are magnetic and flow thru -same with the camera control button -the camera control button has a metal outer ring -this is a good look -screen edges are really low so access isn't going to be an issue -I'm terrible at foreshadowing but this is going to be an issue ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to stay in the loop!
