Unwilling to copy documents for the government, he followed Dou Gu to attack the northern Huns and was ordered to send envoys to the western regions. In 31 years, he conquered more than 50 countries in the western regions and made great contributions to the return of the western regions. Officials went to the western regions to protect the capital, and sealed Dingyuan Hou, known as "ban Dingyuan" in the world. In the 12th year of Yongyuan (the 100th year), ban Chao asked to return to Korea because of his old age. In the 14th year of Yongyuan (102nd year), he arrived in Luoyang and was worshipped as Shesheng colonel. He soon died of illness at the age of 71.
