Zeus Palace operated by Grimaldi Lines is a large, easy to navigate ferry. In Palermo, if travelling as a foot passenger, simply present your ticket and passport at the porta-cabin by the ferry. Check-in is on board; no need to go to the port ticket office. Foot passengers ascend an escalator to the ships reception on the 'Welcome Deck'. A further flight of stairs takes you to 'Europe Deck' where the ships main passenger deck where all the facilities are located - a motorised 'stair lift' is available for those with walking difficulties. On Europe Deck from stern to bow you will find a sleeper lounge with baggage storage, gaming arcade, children's playroom, bar, shop, luxurious a la carte restaurant, self service restaurant and the ships main bar with stage and live entertainment. Europe Deck is highly 'glitzy' with white polished marble floor tiles, polished gold hand rails, fixtures & fittings plus large spotlessly clean mirrors. Together with the large windows Europe Deck is very bright, airy and spacious - why would you want to fly?! On the upper deck you will find a plunge pool and separate children's pool with wooden surround together with a massage room and large bar. The port and starboard sides offer an overhead canopy for protection from the sun plus, if you are travelling with your pet dog, they too are welcome here. Some truly massive exterior decks can be found forward and aft. In Livorno the ferry berths many miles away from the city within the cargo terminal of the port. It is not possible to walk to the city - if travelling on foot ENSURE YOU ARE ONE OF THE FIRST TO DISEMBARK AND GRAB A TAXI which will cost around €20.
