Wearing quality hiking boots is important for hiking on tough terrain like lava fields; I especially wanted a pair of hiking boots with thick soles. After positive experiences with the Columbia outerwear brand, I wanted to also try the Columbia hiking boots. They did not dissappoint. I loved how comfortable they are and that they feel light on my feet. Below are the highlights of the COLUMBIA NEWTON RIDGE HIKING BOOTS: 1) They are wide, cushion-y and comfortable. I was able to slip into them without an issue; and they felt snug but not tight on my feet. 2) Their thick soles kept my feet cushioned and elevated. 3) They offer ankle support. 4) They have rigged bottom and keep me steady on uneven grounds. 5) Not important, but they do look cute for outerwear.
