This journey took me to Gosaikunda, one of Nepal’s holiest lakes, located at 4,600 meters in the Langtang region. According to Hindu legend, Lord Shiva created this lake by striking his trident (Trishul) into the mountain to cool his burning throat after drinking poison to save the world. Even today, thousands of pilgrims come here every year during Janai Purnima to bathe in its icy waters and purify their souls. Along the way, I crossed the Lauribina Pass, met kind and humble people in mountain teahouses, and rediscovered that deep peace only the Himalayas can offer.
