Songkran Festival is the New Year celebration in Thailand, and it is a giant water fight. I finally got to experience this incredible festivity – and it did not disappoint. I was in Bangkok and found my way to Silom Road and had so much fun. Everyone splashes each other with water (an ancient tradition to wash away the sins from the previous year), and it was such a joy to see everyone with big smiles and just being so happy. The Songkran Festival usually last about 3 days, so if you are in Thailand during Songkran and you don’t want to get wet, you should stay in your hotel, because no one is exempt from getting splashed. About me 👨 My name is Alex, and in December of 2023, I quit my job, sold my apartment and all my belongings to pursuit a lifelong dream of traveling full time.
