State of by Gerard & Kelly was presented within the framework of Parades for FIAC 2017 and the Festival d'Automne in Paris at the Palais de la découverte. State of, 2017 Conception Gerard & Kelly Performers: Konstantinos Papanikolaou, Sofiane Sadsaoud, Forty Trumpeter: Johann Nardeau Costumes: Rio Uribe/Gypsy Sport Scénography in collaboration with Antoine Coulmeau Lights: Guillaume Kiene Since 2003, Los Angeles-based artists and choreographers, Gerard & Kelly create works which question the formation of the couple and the critical potential of intimacy, with influences in minimalist dance, institutional critique, and queer theory. Under the newly restored glass rotunda of the Palais de la découverte, State of confronts the quest for light and transparency in the architecture with the resurgence of obscurity in our current moment. The performance invites us to look into the present “state of emergency” in search of emerging possibilities. With the support of Van Cleef & Arpels Video by Cactus Club
