I was a bit frustrated spending so much time practicing when I knew I could PB and reach my goal (Sub 3:55:48) without all this effort, and so I impulsively did a few attempts. Having not practiced a huge deal, I could hardly get past back in time, and after probably an hour, and three attempts failing at sword and shield skip, I was getting back to a reasonable mindset, and decided if I failed the next try, I'd just stop and practice it for a while, then continue with practicing the rest of the run. This run was that attempt, in which I successfully got sword and shield skip, and managed to get through the whole thing, which is the current fastest Wii time. Since I hadn't prepared in the same way as my previous three runs, my mind state was very different throughout. After a pretty awful Bo and sloppy castle, I would've been content with stopping attempts after failing sword and shield skip, but when I got it I had to get back into run mode. Had a handful of silly mistakes up to master sword, which were alright due to having gotten EMS second try. Up to Forest Temple I'd gotten an unlawful amount of one framers, and then since I was still kind of disconnected from the run, I made the dumb decision to try and skip the spider in the first room. After that, stuff started going better. Still with slop, but the important things went well, and overall I had a pretty good forest temple. I then decided to try for the Kargarok out of bounds despite not having practiced it, and promptly failed, after which I did the flight normally for the first time in like a year. Then I hit the King Bulblin trigger. After this I was definitely a bit scattered, since while doing the run I was trying to remember what the backups were to doing this, and to be sure, during cutscenes I even asked in the discord (Thanks Torp for helping). Second try Midna dive and Helmasaur LJA was solid, after which I knew I was a decent chunk ahead of my PB. Aaaand then my pointer started going mad. I don't know why, but my pointer started being super erratic, to the point that I was happy to not have failed Kargarok bugs. It lasted through to after Morpheel (in this time I failed the Deku Toad 1 cycle, as well as my vine clip method, for the first time) which went nicely. Luckily it didn’t persist to where good aim would be more important. After this Arbiters went really nicely, with 1st try poe skip, and an insane first phase Stallord (with no Staltroop wall?), but I wasted a lot of time trying the brakeslide strat in the second phase. Heading to Snowpeak I failed map glitch (lol), but had everything else decent up to early city. Because of hitting the King Bulblin trigger, the graveyard was the only way to access the statue, and stuffed around for a bit heading there.I then failed early city for three minutes. It was awful. The run continued like this; sloppy play with some good parts, and some really bad parts. In City I got an insane Aeralfos skip, and made a great fan cycle up to Argorok, where I completely messed up a full cycle. In Palace I had an awful first phantom Zant fight and sol throws, then a good second phantom Zant with good movement from the sol, followed by a very stupid void from jumping off too early. Up and down... Heading to Zant was good until I got desperate for early platform and completely missed it. Up... Zant went really well (for my abilities), with the final phase going perfectly. and down... Hyrule Castle was going fine, until the barrier skip within the castle, which I failed four times before just fighting the enemies. This wasted about three minutes, and was really not how I wanted the run to finish, but I knew I was pretty far ahead, and still being kinda disconnected from it I just kept retrying, until going "whelp" and moving on. In the end, Zelda gave me 10 cycles, I failed a Beast Ganon cycle, but managed to do horseback and the final fight well. A very weird run.
