Melting in Andalusia: Exploring the countryside of Granada and the peaks of Sierra Nevada 6/7 🇪🇸

This video is the sixth installment of our motorcycle road trip to Andalusia in southern Spain. We continue our journey through the beautiful countryside of Granada, exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains, and visiting the charming town of Güéjar Sierra. We started our day in Granada, the capital city of the province of Granada, located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of four rivers: the Darro, the Genil, the Monachil, and the Beiro. We then rode our Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and BMW GSA 1200 bikes to El Dornajo, a village situated on the road that goes up to Sierra Nevada. The El Dornajo Visitor Centre offers a historic journey through the mysterious lands, allowing visitors to discover the richness of its natural and cultural heritage. As we rode through the mountains, we reached temperatures of 44º Celsius in September, making it a challenging but exhilarating ride. We then continued to Güéjar Sierra, a village located in the north-western part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, at an altitude of 1088 metres. The village has a population of approximately 2988 people and is known for its traditional architecture and stunning natural scenery. We also visited Embalse de Canales, a reservoir located in the municipality of Güéjar Sierra, province of Granada. The dam was inaugurated in 1988 and is situated in the foothills of Sierra Nevada.
