She is best known as a revision client of Lovecraft. There are few details of her time working with Lovecraft. It is documented that she and Lovecraft began corresponding in 1932, and it is possible they met once in person. Colleague CM Eddy once stated that he believed Heald harbored romantic feelings for Lovecraft. While Lovecraft didn't explicitly confess to sharing her feelings, his choice of the Mother Goddess Shub-Niggurath as the main Old One in the works he wrote for her suggests that he might have shared the same sentiments.
