Guitar: Alberto Mesirca Audio and Video: Marco De Biasi Score is available at: https://www.ricordi.com/it-IT/Compose... when will it be published. The piece is dedicated to Alberto Mesirca Thou, nature, art my goddess, to thy law My services are bound. (King Lear, I, ii, 1-2) I love the guitar, I love its particular nature. It is a mystery and at the same time a magic, it has centuries of life but is new every day. And I like to "question" her, talk to her to find new things together. It's a dialogue that began when I was a teenager and the further I go, the more I understand how this mysterious "machine" still has so much for us to discover. In this “dialogue” the composer imagines and asks things, the instrument answers, and the answer will be all the more true, the more the question takes into account the nature of the sound source. I'm not just referring to the "personality" of the single instrument - one has a bright sound, another is more intimate and poetic, and so on - but about the intrinsic nature of this marvel-object, this living being which seems to urge us to get closer and closer, like Ulysses' sirens... Thou, Nature, Art My Goddess was written in 2024 for Alberto Mesirca, whom I thank for his mastery and passion, and is dedicated to the memory of Angelo Gilardino, still a fundamental presence.
